As a Clinical Specialist Optometrist, you will join our diverse and ambitious clinical team of Ophthalmic Technicians, Optometrists, Independent Prescribers, Specialty Doctors, and Consultant Ophthalmologists.

Our team offers great support through direct Consultant access, peer support, and a robust clinical CPD program to help you grow your clinical experience in a well-equipped setting.

Main Duties:

As a Clinical Specialist Optometrist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering specialist clinical care for patients in line with professional guidelines and Evolutio protocols
  2. Planning and delivering specialist clinical examinations tailored to individual patient requirements
  3. Diagnosing, managing, and advising on vision defects, diseases, or abnormalities with a multidisciplinary team
  4. Conducting pre-and post-operative assessments on patients attending after referral for cataract surgery
  5. Communicating effectively with patients and providing positive recommendations and information

Key Skills and Expectations:

  1. A natural enjoyment of communicating with people
  2. An ability to be empathic in delivering bad news
  3. An ability to remain calm and balanced in a busy clinical environment

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
