Job Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking team, working at St Thomas' hospital. You will participate in the diagnosis and management of patients in outpatients, providing expert care and guidance to junior staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients with medical retina and uveitis conditions.
  • Supervise junior staff in clinics, theatre lists, and admissions.
  • Investigate patient complaints, incidents, and serious incidents as required.
  • Cross-cover in the absence of colleagues to ensure continuous patient care.
  • Develop and maintain competencies required for the post.
  • Ensure prompt attendance at direct clinical care programmed activities.
  • Involve patients in decisions about their care and respond to their views.
Requirements
  • Eligible for full UK GMC registration and a Licence to Practise.
  • FRCOphth or/and MRCP or equivalent.
  • Must be on the Specialist Registrar, hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT/CCST) or be within 6 months of obtaining the CCT.
  • Higher degree (e.g. MD or PhD) in a subject relevant to the role.
