Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in the Jarrow area. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with Autism and Learning Disability to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered support to the individual, promoting their independence and autonomy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the individual, built on trust, respect, and open communication.
  • Support the individual to engage in a range of activities, including leisure pursuits, education, and employment.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare and social care teams, to ensure the individual receives comprehensive support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the individual's support plan, ensuring their needs and goals are met.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Social Care or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of working with individuals with Autism and Learning Disability (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
