Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education - Lincoln is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with diverse additional needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have at least 6 months of experience in an educational or healthcare setting, with a strong background in supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities. You will be required to provide personal care when needed and have a passion for supporting individuals with additional needs to live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing engaging materials and adapting lesson plans to effectively support individual students' needs.
  • Caring for the physical, social, and emotional welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Developing creative ways to interact with the young people you are supporting.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
  • Delivering personal care to young people when required.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 months of experience in an educational or healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  • The willingness to provide personal care when needed.
  • A relevant qualification at Level 2 or higher, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
