Job Title: Junior Printed Textile Designer

Westbridge Furniture Designs Ltd is seeking a talented Junior Printed Textile Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Fabric Designer in curating fabric collections across our customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Senior Fabric Designer in curating fabric collections across our customer portfolio.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure sample fabrics arrive on time and are passed to the development team for product sampling.
  • Support the creation of fabric swatch and trend boards, and help to maintain the fabric sample room, keeping it organized and tidy.
  • Coordinate the journey of the fabric through the business, including booking in, receipting on the ERP system, sending swatches for testing, and maintaining internal swatch files.
  • Monitor orders through production, ensuring all fabrics are labelled and passed to production departments.
  • Add new fabrics to the ERP system, with all relevant information.
  • Liaise with suppliers to help maintain the 'library' of fabric information on the ERP system.
  • Create purchase orders.
  • Assist with showroom set up, when required.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Background working in a similar design environment is preferable, but not essential.
  • Someone creative and preferably with a Design qualification, but not necessarily in Textiles.
  • Has an interest in interiors and fabric/fashion trends and has some fabric knowledge.
  • Can work under pressure on a range of projects within a fast-paced environment and is happy to 'get stuck in' with varied day-to-day tasks.
  • Good attention to detail, and experience of working on different computer systems.
  • Someone happy to learn and gain experience as they grow into the role.
  • Confident to present and communicate ideas internally and with customer-facing presentations.
  • Flexible, as occasional travel and overtime may be required.
  • Manual handling training will be provided.
