MEP Health and Safety Compliance Specialist

PW Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced MEP Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our award-winning M&E contractor client based in Kent.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a team with development and progression.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs specific to MEP activities.
  2. Create, maintain and review all health & safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, CPP documentation etc.
  3. Monitor H&S on every site including carrying out H&S audits on major site visits (at least bi-weekly).
  4. Action any requirements raised within the H&S audit on the ground, raising anything serious with the Senior PM Team by phone then followed up by email.
  5. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  6. Document inspection findings and follow up on corrective actions.
  7. Provide safety training and implement safety training programmes for all personnel, including new employee orientations and ongoing toolbox talks.
  8. Ensure all member of staff have a full understanding of the safety practices and procedures.
  9. Investigate incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.
  11. Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain incident detailed reporting documentation.
  12. Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters.
  13. Work closely and collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into all phases of project delivery.
The ideal candidate will be:
  1. IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification with proof of certificate(s).
  2. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the relevant field of operation.
  3. Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
  4. Full UK driver's license
