Financial Reporting Specialist

This role is a great opportunity to be part of Aviva Insurance, Wealth and Retirement ('IWR') Life Accounting production operation team supporting IFRS and Solvency II (SII) reporting.

The successful candidate will apply professional judgement and expertise on accounting and reporting matters and look to implement improvements in our processes.

This accounting role sits within the Non-Profit Fund Accounting production team and will be managed and mentored by a Senior Finance Manager.

The role will include a wide variety of activities:

  • Quarterly reporting of the Non-Profit IFRS and SII results to the Aviva Life IWR Consolidation team.
  • Ownership and delivery of timely and insightful outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-quality reporting with supporting analysis to identify underlying drivers and offer business insight.
  • Operation and enhancement of financial and operational controls with the ultimate aim of safeguarding both customer and shareholder interests.
  • Continuous focus on process optimisation, simplification, and standardisation.
  • Leading investigations within reporting and acting as a key resource on projects.
  • Relationship management with key stakeholders across Finance.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and pro-active drive to identify and investigate variances.
  • Experience in a financial reporting role within financial services or Life Assurance accounting would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with other areas of the business.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17, Solvency II would also be beneficial.
