Primary KS1 Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Wetherby. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, providing individualized support to students, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional help, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Help create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that promotes social interaction and academic achievement.
  • Prepare and organize teaching materials, resources, and equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to the teacher to inform future instruction.
  • Supervise students during break times and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with classroom management, maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere that encourages learning and growth.
  • Participate in school events and activities, contributing to the wider school community and promoting a sense of belonging among students, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, with a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in supporting children's education and development.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new approaches and strategies.
  • Possession of an Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one, with eligibility to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
