Job Overview

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our grounds maintenance team as a School Grounds Maintenance Team Lead, focusing on schools. As a seasoned leader, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of grounds maintenance operatives to maintain school grounds
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities for efficient service delivery
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to uphold high standards
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Liaise with school staff and stakeholders to understand their requirements and address concerns
  • Manage resources, equipment, and materials effectively to optimize productivity and cost-efficiency
  • Uphold health and safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Undertake hands-on grounds maintenance tasks as required, including mowing, pruning, weeding, and litter picking

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A proven track record of leadership in a similar environment
  • Experience working in a school setting and understanding the importance of creating safe and inviting outdoor spaces
  • Proactive, organized, and able to motivate and inspire a team to achieve excellence
  • A DBS check and a valid driving license
