About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at idverde UK. As a specialist in school grounds maintenance, you will be responsible for leading a team of operatives in the upkeep of school grounds, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and functional for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of grounds maintenance operatives in the upkeep of school grounds
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Liaise with school staff and stakeholders to understand their requirements and address any concerns or requests
  • Manage resources, equipment, and materials effectively to optimise productivity and cost-efficiency
  • Uphold health and safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Undertake hands-on grounds maintenance tasks as required, including mowing, pruning, weeding, and litter picking

  • Proven leadership skills and experience in grounds maintenance and management roles
  • Passion for grounds maintenance and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
  • Previous experience in school settings and understanding of the importance of creating safe and inviting outdoor spaces
  • Proactive, organised, and able to motivate and inspire a team to achieve excellence
  • DBS check and driving license
