Job Title: SEN Tutor

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Tutor to join our team at 1st Staff. As a SEN Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering tuition sessions in Maths and English to students with special educational needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in adapting and supporting learners to overcome barriers. You will work with students from 4-25 years of age with both education and therapeutic needs. Our team provides a support network for all of our tutors, including a lead tutor, designated safeguarding leads, curriculum leads for Maths and English, Behavioural specialists, and a Head of Education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tuition sessions in Maths and English to students with special educational needs
  • Adapt and support learners to overcome barriers
  • Work with students from 4-25 years of age with both education and therapeutic needs
  • Collaborate with the support network to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
Requirements
  • Experience in adapting and supporting learners to overcome barriers
  • Confidence working with a range of SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to identify existing and potential barriers to students' learning and help them to overcome them
  • Be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to the individual needs
