Senior Mechanical Installation Specialist

In Cumbria, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Installation Specialist to join our esteemed nuclear construction project. This is a temporary contract opportunity that requires immediate start until May 2025.
About the Role:We're looking for an experienced professional who can effectively manage and coordinate all mechanical plant and equipment installation activities on site. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery of equipment and materials.
- Process isometrics and drawings in accordance with project requirements.
- Issue construction packages to installation supervisors, including approved RAMS, permits, and lifting plans.
- Support the development of lookahead's based on the programme and milestones.
- Coordinate plant and equipment installation, incorporating sub-contract activities and ensuring scaffolding and tools are readily available.
- Review and report weekly progress against the programme with the M, E & I Installation Manager.
- Experience in fulfilling a mechanical engineering role on construction projects.
- Previous experience of project delivery on a nuclear licensed site.
- Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (minimum HNC).
- Good knowledge of Mech Engineering practices and ability to follow drawings and specifications.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Holder of a valid competency card.
- Proven ability to manage a small team of supervisors and blue-collar operatives and sub-contractors.
- Previous experience working with Shield Doors, Gamma gates, and Kuka robot equipment is an advantage.
- Previous experience installing bogey & rail systems in a nuclear environment is an advantage.
- Experience working with and on EOTC Cranes is an advantage.
