If so, we want to hear from you AWD online is seeking a skilled Scientific Facilities Coordinator to join our team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities and supporting our users. You will work closely with our Live Labs Manager, Lab Operations Coordinator, and Apprentice Lab Technician to maintain the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental impact in our laboratories.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the management of small teams, including the support of the Apprentice Lab Technician;
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities, including scheduling maintenance to minimize disruption to users;
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the laboratory, including cleaning, laundry, and waste management services;
  • Ensuring the safety, health, and environmental impact of the laboratories and supporting services, including risk assessments and approvals;

As a successful candidate, you will have a BSc in Biology or another relevant subject, laboratory experience, and knowledge of working in a laboratory environment. Experience in Health and Safety, particularly Biological Safety, and providing excellent customer service are also essential. Desirable skills include experience in laboratory management, CAFM and/or LIMS platforms, budgetary management, and working on established campuses or complex sites.

The salary for this role is approximately £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, plus benefits, which include pension allowance, holiday entitlement, discretionary annual performance-related bonus, employee wellbeing service, restaurant facilities, onsite accommodation, social sports and social club, nursery and holiday playscheme, and free parking. Any offer of employment will be subject to security screening and may be subject to health screening.
