Job Title: Immigration Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, a leading law firm in the UK. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting our immigration lawyers with casework, including dealing with a range of Immigration matters, undertaking your own advocacy, and attending clients, taking instructions, and preparing cases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist with casework, including dealing with a range of Immigration matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) as well as undertaking your own advocacy
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
  • Deal with correspondence, prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency, and prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence
  • Prepare applications to meet Home Office requirements, including drafting application forms, index of documents, and letters of representations
  • Attend conferences and court, maintain accurate time costing procedures, and implement any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews
  • Ensure compliance with file management
Key Skills:
  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of publicly funded Immigration Law
  • A strong academic background with a Law degree
  • Legal experience as an Immigration Paralegal/Senior Caseworker/Advisor
  • Clear understanding and application of Immigration Laws
  • Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
  • Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
  • Committed team player, self-motivated and professional
  • Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
