SEN Teacher Job Overview

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced SEN teacher to join our team at a special educational needs school in Sidcup, UK. As a SEN teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex and severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Our ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ASD/SLD/Complex needs and experience working in a special needs education setting.

  • Estimated salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum.

About the Role\

The successful SEN teacher applicant will be joining our outstanding SEN school in Sidcup for children with severe learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are adapted into three streams of curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities\
  • Develop and implement personalised educational programs that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
  • Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.

Requirements\
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of ASD/SLD/Complex needs.
  • Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
