Job Title: Mechanical Craftsperson

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team at Sellafield Ltd. As a Mechanical Craftsperson, you will be responsible for delivering a range of mechanical craft maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and effectively in support of business and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Isolate and make safe plant equipment
  • Fault find and resolve issues using technical drawings, instructions, and manuals
  • Use manual and electronic information retrieval systems
  • Liaise with a broad range of contacts
  • Work on a wide range of equipment, including pumps, motors, remote handling equipment, bearings, brakes, engines, pipework, ventilation systems, cranes, steam and compressed air systems
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject
  • Successful completion of a recognised Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject
  • Experience of isolating/making safe of plant equipment
  • Experience/evidence of fault finding and how issues were resolved
  • Able to use both manual and electronic information retrieval systems
  • Strong communication skills
