About the Role

National Highways is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our Safety, Engineering & Standards (SES) team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the creation of content for our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System, ensuring it is legally compliant and relevant to our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high-quality content strategy for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System, ensuring consistency and alignment with our organization's policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on the content of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System, ensuring it meets the needs of our users and stakeholders.
  • Manage communication and revisions to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System, ensuring timely and effective dissemination of information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System aligns with our organization's key risks and business needs.
  • Champion document control and ensure the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System meets user and stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Applied knowledge and experience of UK H&S Legislation, including current and proposed future legislative requirements.
  • Practical experience in the creation, implementation, and revision of management arrangements and systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and work to critical timescales.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work at all organizational levels and across disciplines.
