Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Caradoc Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture, obtaining patient consent, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture as requested by the clinical team to the entitled patient population.
  • Obtain patient consent for the collection of a blood sample.
  • Maintain accurate patient records on internal systems.
  • Correctly label, package, and store samples.
  • Effectively use the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Ensure samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an effective liaison with the laboratory staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient-related matters.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Phlebotomy Specialist who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in venipuncture.
  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of working within primary care.
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Effective time management.
