Apprentice Building Surveyor

Farrans (Construction) Limited is seeking a skilled Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for monitoring costs, maximizing revenue, and minimizing liabilities on various projects.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide accurate financial reporting to achieve the appropriate commercial result for projects.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, ensuring timely payments and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Complete measurements and valuations of work executed, ensuring adherence to contract conditions.
- Ensure Farrans Construction meets all contractual obligations.
- Analyze cost overruns and provide cost projections to stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients on commercial issues, including variation agreements, claims, and additional payments.
- Identify legitimate contractual claim situations and prepare documentation for clients.
- Strive for continuous improvement within the commercial process and your area of responsibility.
- Adhere to all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies.
- Prior experience in a construction QS role, working on major projects.
- Strong understanding of modern building techniques, plant, and equipment, and logistical needs.
- Knowledge of construction contract conditions.
- Appreciation of the impact of cost on project completion and development of construction solutions.
- Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent qualification.
- Full Driving License.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.
