Apprentice Building Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team as an Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day commercial activities across a portfolio of projects, typically around the £5 million mark at any given time.
- Manage and price contract variations and compensation events to ensure accurate project valuation and compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare and issue sub-contractor payment notices, pursue payment and payless notices when due, and follow up on any late payments from clients.
- Complete monthly project Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), along with associated forecasting and financial reporting to maintain project profitability and accuracy.
- Maintain and update forward workload schedules to ensure efficient resource allocation and project planning.
- Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes as needed, both for ongoing and legacy projects.
- Conduct site visits to survey and value projects, ensuring accurate assessments and reporting.
- Support the development and training of Assistant Quantity Surveyors to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience working on similar projects within the construction industry.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Proven success working on a variety of construction projects.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC).
