Job SummaryThe Senior Head of Group Finance will be an integral member of the clinical groups Board, participating fully in the agenda for both financial and non-financial performance and arising issues. This role will provide overall financial leadership and strategic direction, ensuring that finance delivers a high-quality customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the Group Finance Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services.
- Financial Management: Take overall responsibility for the financial management of the Group, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Staff Development: Lead and develop the skills and competencies of staff within the Group Finance Team, ensuring progress towards individual Personal Development Plans.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure the regular reporting of financial performance management information to the groups and relevant Trust Committees/Board.
- Financial Systems: Ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, and business focus of financial systems and processes across the groups.
- Operational Expenditure: Take a strategic lead in ensuring that Group operational expenditure is fit for purpose for Service Line Reporting.
- Decision Making: Make decisions within the interpretation and understanding of national policies and professional standards.
- Line Management: Line manage staff within the Group Finance Team, taking responsibility for recruitment and selection decisions, appraisal, performance management, sickness absence, planning, and monitoring of departmental workload.
- Training and Development: Develop the skills and competencies of staff through training and development activities, ensuring progress towards individual Personal Development Plans.
- Financial Management Training: Support the development and maintenance of Financial Management training programs for clinicians and managers at all levels throughout the Trust.
- Compliance: Ensure own and the team compliance with the Trust's mandatory training requirements.
