Job Description

As an Operations Team Manager at Nationwide Building Society, you will be responsible for leading a team of individuals processing work for our landlord customers. You will train, coach, and develop team members on how to perform their roles, ensuring the required standards for quality monitoring are met, and supporting team members through comprehensive Route to Competencies. Our goal is to deliver great customer service, and you will be part of the leadership team charged with providing this.

The role is within the Mortgages & Financial Wellbeing function, which is responsible for supporting landlords build portfolios and improve their properties. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with stakeholders to drive efficiency and improve service quality.

We offer a hybrid working approach, which allows you to work from home and in the office. You will be based at our Bournemouth office for at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if you are part-time. You will need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of challenging business objectives, including leadership, business controls, people management, and process improvement. You will drive efficiency through excellent operational and leadership skills, working as part of a team that shares resources and experience. You will motivate and encourage team members through daily mentoring, training, buzz sessions, floor walking, and team meetings.

Key to the success of this role will be supporting the growth and development of the operational team members. This will involve coordinating training needs, improving performance as required, and delivering leadership through clear and honest communication. Your goal will be to deliver great customer service, maintain the highest quality within Service Level Standards, and champion continuous improvement.

  • Have a strong background in a busy, high-volume, fast-paced operation.
  • Knowledge of Summit system or other similar platforms used in landlord administration.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership experience.
  • Be positive and motivated with an inspirational approach to getting the best out of your team.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills both at team level and with stakeholders.
  • Have a passion for the customer and be able to evidence your success in delivering great service.
