Principal Systems Architect

The Infrastructure Engineering team at Tesco Technology is responsible for designing, developing, and operating all infrastructure used across our data centres, offices, stores, and distribution centres. This includes private and public cloud, connectivity, end-user computing, CI/CD, and monitoring toolkit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership in the design, development, and deployment of infrastructure systems, working with product teams to make key decisions on technology selection, system design, and implementation strategies.
- Identify key competencies required for systems engineering in Infrastructure and develop a plan to address any gaps.
- Mentor junior engineers and architects, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them grow in their roles.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and empowerment between architects and other teams, including product, engineering, and technology teams.
- Anticipate and overcome obstacles with a pragmatic approach, reacting quickly and positively to significant and major events.
- Develop high levels of emotional intelligence and use empathy skills to influence positively the outcomes of all interactions.
- Understand how the procurement process works and apply this knowledge in planning and influencing product roadmaps.
