About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our multi-disciplinary team in the UK water sector. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the on-site installation, testing, and sign-off of our projects, ensuring that our work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical installation and refurbishment works on existing water company sites in accordance with project requirements and programme.
  • Work on client sites across the region, potentially requiring overnight stays and paid overtime.
  • Comply with necessary hygiene standards when working on sites that convey sewage and drinking water.
  • Assist the project team in specifying job requirements and compiling survey reports for quotation purposes.
  • Work in company workshops to build and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read, understand, and follow risk assessments and method statements.
  • Inspect, survey, identify faults, carry out works, and test electrical systems.
  • Complete required paperwork for each project and compile reports to demonstrate successful installation and testing.
  • Utilize design drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Troubleshoot issues and follow correct procedures to identify solutions and implement them effectively.
  • Comply with BS7671 requirements and company/client-specific standards.
  • Be accountable for your own health and safety and that of others under your control.
  • Work as part of a team and cooperate with other staff/trades.
  • Ensure the quality of your work on site is completed to Company standards.
  • Comply with Company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including commitment to OH&S, environmental, and quality objectives.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' related experience post-qualification in electrical installation and testing, preferably in the UK water sector.
  • Fully qualified electrician (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
  • 17th/18th Edition.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection (advantageous).
  • Control and automation experience (advantageous).
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Confined spaces training (preferable).
  • ECS Gold card or ability to obtain one.
  • EUSR clean water card (preferable).
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider (preferable).
  • Able to work well in a team and give/take instruction.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge and application.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude with flexible approach to work and ability to work on own initiative.
