About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Care Team at Leonard Cheshire. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Support: Assist with daily life tasks, including personal care, medication, and mealtimes, to promote independence and well-being.
  • Escort and Support: Safely escort and support individuals to external events, appointments, and activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Person-Centered Approach: Implement our Person-Centered approach, encouraging maximum independence and helping individuals achieve their individual aspirations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and Creativity: Work flexibly and creatively with individuals and their families, adapting to changing needs and circumstances.
  • Personal Care Experience: Ideally have personal care experience, although this is not essential.
  • Teamwork and Pressure Management: Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Be flexible to work within rostered hours and prepared to participate in an on-call rota where required.
