Defence Equipment Certification Specialist

Morson Talent has partnered with a leading defence equipment manufacturer based in Bolton, Greater Manchester to fill a Mechanical Inspector apprenticeship position. This contract role offers opportunities for long-term employment.
To be considered, applicants must possess SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance eligibility.
This role involves primary responsibility for product certification in line with the product certification procedure. Applicants with significant mechanical inspection experience, preferably in defence and/or aerospace sectors, are highly regarded.
Salary Details: The hourly rate starts at £37 for the initial 12 weeks, increasing to £28.71 after that period.
Detailed Job Description:- Main duties include ensuring accurate certification in accordance with established guidelines
- Full inspection of assemblies for correctness
- Thorough examination of component finishes for defects or poor craftsmanship
- Identification of any signs of physical damage
- Maintenance of quality control measures throughout production processes
- Liaising closely with other team members involved in certification and production operations
- Collection and verification of required documentation
- Segregation and tracking of defective goods
- Documentation of test results and observations
- Upkeep of advanced tools and equipment for inspection purposes
- Audit and review of ongoing certifications and approvals
- Adherence to standard operating procedures within production environments
- Timely completion of scheduled inspections
- Application of diverse skillsets across multiple projects
- Continuous pursuit of optimal performance and adherence to company standards
- Maintenance of a secure working area
- Commitment to maintaining an organized workspace
- Participation in efforts towards continuous process improvement
- Completion of formal apprenticeships or degree-level qualifications in technical fields
- At least several years' experience in a similar role requiring substantial mechanical inspection expertise
- Extensive experience as a skilled professional
- Desirable - holding IPC 610 certification
