Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail. As a Machinery Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire replacements, and other repairs. You will also be required to conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure all equipment is safe and ready for use.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of heavy machinery, including cranes, plant, and fork trucks
  • Pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is safe and ready for use
  • Be able to work at the pace and to the required quality of jobs as allocated to you on a daily basis by the Depot Manager
  • Hold a full clean UK Driving Licence

  • Estimated salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
