Dementia and Delirium Specialist Nurse Role

We are seeking an experienced Dementia and Delirium Specialist Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is a rare opportunity to work with patients living with dementia and delirium, providing expert care and support.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in dementia and delirium care, with a strong understanding of current best practices and guidelines. They will be responsible for facilitating evidence-based patient-centred care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement individual care plans.
This is a Band 6 role, requiring the ability to prioritise workload, have a flexible and proactive attitude, and excellent organisational skills. The ideal candidate will be able to model and shape the workforce to provide high-quality dementia and delirium care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist expertise in dementia and delirium care, facilitating evidence-based patient-centred care.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement individual care plans.
- Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of service policies and protocols.
- Act as a resource and provide education and training for patients and healthcare personnel.
Requirements:
- NMC Registered Nurse (Mental health/adult)
- Further education in Dementia
- Significant experience in dementia and delirium care
Location: Poole Hospital
Estimated Salary: £43,041 - £57,191 per annum (dependent on experience)
