Job Description

Job Title: Logistics Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Administrator to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a Logistics Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our depot, managing the allocation and routing of vehicles, and maintaining health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Route Efficiency: Utilize optimum disposal outlets to ensure effective use of vehicles and facilities.
  • Manage Driver Availability: Ensure suitable coverage at all times, in line with legislation and company procedures.
  • Perform Administrative Duties: Input pay and bonus onto company systems, and accurately input disposal information.
  • Proactive Vehicle Management: Liaise with fleet, ensure safe vehicle operations, and monitor vehicle gross weights.
  • Supervise Vehicle Availability: Ensure drivers have completed checks in accordance with company policy.
  • Contribute to Cost Control: Actively seek to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Ensure Administrative Tasks: Complete tasks associated with the Dispatch office, including time sheets, tachograph records, payroll records, and holiday rotas.
  • Mandatory Training: Ensure that mandatory training, induction, and toolbox talks are delivered in line with company policy.

Requirements:

  • Supervise Teams Remotely: Ability to manage teams effectively without direct supervision.
  • Good Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work Unsupervised: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good IT Skills: Proficiency in using IT systems and software.
