About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting a pupil with complex social and emotional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure they receive the necessary assistance to succeed.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational healthcare plans (EHCPs) and differentiated learning activities to cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Support the development of essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence, in students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the well-being and academic success of all students.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supporting positive behavior and helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.
About You

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about working with children with special educational needs and committed to inclusive education. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to effectively support students with complex needs.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
