Job SummaryThe Automation Programmer will be responsible for completing the setup and installation of robots from a single robot to multiple robot cells. Successful candidates will possess programming capability, as well as have demonstrated experience with good troubleshooting and startup support. Promoting good communication within the robotic department as well as other departments to ensure a quality product is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Program robot paths, set up program structure, and implement offline programming.
- Provide robotic support and training as required.
- Work on Robot drawings and configurations.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Work closely with Robotic Supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines.
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robotic systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to understand and define programming requirements.
- Develop robot programs using native programming languages.
- Test and validate robot programs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Identify and resolve programming issues, including debugging and optimization.
- Document programming processes, procedures, and changes for reference and training purposes.
Essential
- Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering.
- Hands-on experience programming robots ABB / Kuka / Fanuc.
- Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC functionality.
- Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories.
Desirable
- More than 5 years' experience in programming robots.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and automation technologies.
