Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development of new packaging production machines. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young business as they launch their innovative paper bottle and other products worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead commissioning activities of new repeat build machines through both FAT in the UK and SAT internationally.
  2. Drive continuous improvement through feedback to mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering disciplines.
  3. Manage upgrade installation & validation exercises on existing machines.
  4. Assist in machine relocation planning.
  5. Record machine Overall Equipment Effectiveness and commissioning snag lists.
  6. Lead commissioning activities of NPD projects.
  7. Contribute to all associated documentation including: Machine manuals, Qualification protocols, SOP's, and future machine URS documentation.
  8. Own machine settings logs and changes.
  9. Work closely with controls engineers on machine analytics.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent all-round electromechanical understanding.
  2. 4 years minimum experience in commissioning equipment, ideally internationally.
  3. From a key discipline including electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering.
  4. Understanding of PLC's (able to write or modify structured text code advantageous).
  5. Ability to read electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams.
  6. Knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper, and AC motors.
  7. Good general computer skills.
  8. Strong cause-effect analytical abilities.
  9. Excellent communication skills.

Working Hours: 9am-5pm, with flexibility to work additional hours during machine installations.

Salary: Negotiable, with an expectation of 35-40k.

Holidays: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
