Job Summary

Jacobsen|Daniels is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of experience in planning and preliminary design of aviation/transportation projects, including rental car facilities, passenger terminals, ground transportation, rail, bus, parking, and maintenance facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and creative leadership and direction for a range of projects as determined by the Planning Division Leader.
  • Interface independently with the Division Leader, executive level management, and/or client personnel as needed.
  • Execute, manage, and delegate the workflow of multiple and/or complex projects for clients while driving results as defined by the Division Leader.
  • Provide oversight of professional design services being performed by J|D staff or outside resources.
  • Support in new business proposal development and interviews.
  • Help Division Leader work effectively and in the best interests of client(s); maximize firm's network of resources to enhance client services.
  • Evaluate, assess, and provide regular feedback to the Division Leader the results of all assigned projects.
  • Assist in promoting corporate values and a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in successfully bringing together people from different disciplines, internal and external to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Support in delivering technical and creative solutions, and the ability to align team members behind these solutions.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in architecture, civil engineering, aviation management or like, with a minimum of 20 plus years of experience in aviation/transportation projects.
  • Professional or Graduate degree highly desirable.
  • Professional License/Technical Certifications in area of specialization is highly desirable.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of aviation/transportation projects with specific experience in rental car facilities, passenger terminals, ground transportation, rail, bus, parking, and maintenance facilities.
  • Ability to produce AutoCAD drawings, diagrams, and 2D illustrations to support project efforts.
  • Able to provide oversight of professional design services.
  • Strategic thinking ability with balanced analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Efficient planning and project management ability.
  • Written Communications; Able to effectively communicate with executive leadership, team members and clients.
  • Client-Focus; Understands client needs and how to deliver desired objectives.
  • Subject Matter Expert in the functional/technical skills needed for this position.
  • A high level of integrity with the ability to invoke the trust of the project team and client.
  • Above average time management skills.
  • Able to travel up to 25%.

Working Conditions

Primarily in a remote office environment. May be required to travel to client sites from time to time.

Reporting Relationships

Position reports to the Division Leader or other executive management as determined during the hiring process or periodic performance review process.

None.
