Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Relief Chef Manager to join our team at Miquill. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for supporting the financial and operational performance of our school catering facilities.

Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service and food to our students and staff, with a creative twist to make school mealtimes fun and exciting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team to ensure a consistently fantastic dining experience for students and staff
  • Lead in the preparation of delicious and nutritious meals of the highest quality
  • Provide outstanding support and guidance to the team
  • Lead, develop, coach, and train all staff in a positive and motivating manner
  • Support in the control of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labour costs
  • Manage and improve all controllable costs
  • Drive sales through monthly promotions and added value events
  • Build positive relationships with clients and customers
  • Ensure full compliance with company systems & procedures, and legislation
  • Carry out regular audits to ensure standards are being met
Requirements
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A natural positive leader who can demonstrate great teamwork
  • Previous experience in managing a team
  • Craft based experience using fresh ingredients
  • OND or HND Qualification (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a kitchen
  • Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
