Job Title: Technical Manager - Quality Assurance

Our client is seeking a self-motivated and organized Technical Manager to join their team. As the main technical contact, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Quality, Food Safety & Legality on site, including factory standards ensuring they are compliant with our customers & 3rd party standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain factory standards through auditing
  • Develop and maintain all policies and procedures that form the Quality Management System
  • Ensure procedures designed to maintain product quality, safety and legality are followed by all staff
  • Assist in the smooth implementation of changes and product launches
  • Lead and fully understand the site HACCP and be involved in the evaluation of risk and defining controls
  • Proactively determine areas where improvement is necessary and assist in ensuring that non-conformances are addressed
  • Lead, motivate and inspire the technical team in line with our clients Values to achieve personal development and continuous improvement
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a similar Technical Management role in food manufacturing or food retailer
  • Previous responsibility for hygiene and pest control
  • Extensive practical experience of HACCP
  • Understanding of external standards including BRC, IFS & retailers code of practice
  • Knowledge of food legislation
  • A passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to be flexible to meet business needs
  • High attention to detail
  • A team player
  • Systematic problem solving
  • Influencing and challenging skills
  • Computer Literate in all Microsoft packages
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualification in Food Science
  • Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing (Level 3 or above)
  • Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing (Level 4)
  • Knowledge of bakery products
