About the Role

We're seeking an exceptional Merchandising Assistant to join our team at NEXT. As a key member of our Merchandising department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth-running day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Forecast sales and stock levels to achieve sales plans and margin/profit targets for the department
  2. Monitor department performance and identify opportunities for growth, as well as potential risks and losses
  3. Maximise profit by ensuring size ratios and return rates are reflective of customer needs
  4. Develop a strong understanding of product performance across various channels and identify ways to impact performance
  5. Contribute to department strategy, demonstrating the ability to recognise innovative ideas and solutions with commercial gain
  6. Develop and manage the Merchandise Assistant through their development programme

Requirements

  1. Experience operating at an Assistant Merchandiser level within the fashion and apparel industry
  2. Possession of a passion for developing your career further in merchandising
  3. Experience of planning weekly sales, stock, and intake management
  4. Confidence in participating in weekly trade meetings
  5. Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
  6. Ability to develop and manage the Merchandise Assistant
