We are seeking a dedicated Associate Specialist/Specialty Doctor to provide treatment for men and women with mental health needs.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist and Lead Consultant Psychiatrist to provide clinical assessment, support the consultant in patient referrals, and complete regular mental state reviews.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of the Consultant.
  • Providing medical reports and attending CPA meetings to review patient care with NHS England case managers and community care co-ordinators.
  • Providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant.
  • Contributing to service development through Clinical Governance activities, including audits, research, and teaching.
  • Working effectively with colleagues to ensure patients have access to medical cover at all times.
  • Providing prospective cover to other specialty doctors when they are on leave.
  • Liaising with GP and practice nurse regarding patients' physical healthcare.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Good standing for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Linked in with an appraisal/RITA process within the last year.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry.
  • Experience working as a doctor in a similar environment.
  • MRCPsych (desirable).
  • Section approval (desirable).
  • AC status (desirable).
