Job Description:

The Endoscopy Technician will function as an integral member of the endoscopy team by performing various duties that assist the endoscopist in carrying out safe endoscopy procedures with optimal results for the patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with throughput of patients during admission, procedural, and recovery phases.
  • Under the direct supervision of the physician, assist with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound procedures, ERCP, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, esophageal dilations, specimen collection, and other related duties.
  • Responsible for turnover of procedure rooms and admission/recovery areas.
  • Demonstrate competency and knowledge in the manual and automated cleaning process of scopes, adhering to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain an adequate supply level in procedure rooms, utility rooms, and office areas.
  • Return endoscopes and equipment to the appropriate storage place, clean, and ensure transport of certain items to the Sterile Processing Department, utilizing appropriate chemicals for disinfection.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant with experience in an Endoscopy setting or Surgical Technician with experience in Endoscopy setting preferred.
  • LNA License or Surgical Technologist certification required (or within 1 year of hire).
  • Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire required.
