Maintenance Engineer Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a Manufacturing Business in Cardiff. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical maintenance and basic mechanical engineering principles.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Carry out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes.

* Perform reactive maintenance and repair, working to undertake repairs as efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.

* Conduct inspections and servicing of manufacturing equipment as required.

* Identify areas for improvement to reduce scrap levels and improve production performance.

* Provide maintenance support for projects and perform housekeeping duties in the engineering environment.

* Carry out testing on fire alarm systems on a weekly basis.

**Requirements:**

* Experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a solid understanding of electrical and basic mechanical disciplines.

* Qualification in engineering, equivalent to NVQ/City and Guilds Level 3 or HNC/HND/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.

* Ability to read engineering circuit schematics/drawings and knowledge of welding and fabrication.

* Flexibility to adapt to changing shift patterns.
