We're hiring for a Media Strategy Director as part of dentsu X in London. This role will support the Senior Strategy Partner on the client to develop brilliant solutions, elevating the role of comms and media in the business agenda. Additionally, this position will work as a 'bridge' between group and market teams across client and Carat organizations.
Purpose of the Role
The Media Strategy Director will help develop responses and guidance to strategic briefs from global clients, ensuring best-in-class thinking and global consistency. Key responsibilities include forging strong relationships with global clients, understanding their key issues, and driving thought pieces on the changing landscape and the role of Carat within an integrated communication mix.
Main Responsibilities
- Developing responses and guidance to strategic briefs from global clients, ensuring best-in-class thinking and global consistency.
- Forging strong relationships with global clients, understanding their key issues facing their business.
- Ensuring deep consumer understanding as a starting point for all brief responses.
- Driving thought pieces on the changing landscape and the role of Carat within an integrated communication mix.
- Developing recommendations on market clustering and portfolio prioritization based on existing planning framework and improving/enhancing it where needed.
- Leveraging econometrics, business analytics, and past campaign/competitive learnings to develop, refine, and deliver media implementation guidelines.
- Driving excellent and appropriate use of insights & planning tools on client briefs to drive business outcome-focused planning across the media ecosystem.
- Developing creative ideas, media partnerships, and innovations based on communications strategy, working with various Dentsu specialisms & teams.
- Building a strong relationship with key clients/stakeholders, ensuring good TRR scores.
Salary Range: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience within Media with deep knowledge of media and communications planning tools and processes.
- Experience developing marketing and communications strategies for multi-market clients, with a proven ability to marshal multiple countries behind your strategies, driving consistency with local nuances.
- Excellent ability and proven track record of working with clients at a senior level to advise on the strategic direction of their communications and its ability to deliver business value.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across companies, cultures, and countries to drive your agenda through influence.
- Strong skills in persuasion and selling of your ideas and strategies to new and existing clients.
- Skilled in mentoring and developing individuals from a wide variety of disciplines, culture, and backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of the role of media in delivering business value for modern brands.
- Cultural awareness, analytical skills, and relentless curiosity.
- Deep working knowledge of insight & planning tools and a proven ability to bring insights to bear to develop communications strategies.
- Strong understanding of multiple sources for market, consumer, and media intelligence.
- Proven record in identification and development of insights, measurement, and evaluation projects.
