About the Role
The Academic Support Specialist will be responsible for supervising students, managing classrooms, and engaging students in their learning activities. We will provide cover work and support the candidate in determining their subject specialisms. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to build rapport with staff and students, and demonstrate a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students and maintain good classroom behaviour
- Support staff during short-term absences and manage classrooms effectively
- Engage students in their learning activities and provide feedback to teachers
- Determine subject specialisms with the support of the school leadership team
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who:
- Has a passion for education and working with young people
- Can build strong relationships with staff and students
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is flexible and able to work independently
Salary and Benefits
This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of £17,104 per annum (£23,337 full-time equivalent), working 31.25 hours per week, term time + 1 week of inset. The working hours will be 8.30 am - 3.15 pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute break each day.
