About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Foundation Learning department at Bedford College. As Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inclusive education programs that cater to diverse learner needs
  • Lead a team of educators in delivering high-quality provision and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive departmental and organisational objectives
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Supported Internship and employment initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with The Bedford College Group's strategic goals and organisational values
Requirements
  • Level 7 qualification or equivalent
  • Good standard of general education to include English and Maths at Level 2
  • Proven experience in team management and leadership
  • Strong knowledge of government initiatives related to SEND provision
  • Ability to adapt approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners
