Contracts Manager Job Description

Step Resourcing is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team in the Passive Fire Protection sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection and intumescent paint, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related Contracts Manager role. They will be confident and motivated, with a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end projects and costs, from initial brief to sign off.
  • Estimate and oversee the installation of passive fire protection products and intumescent paint.
  • Program projects and ensure they are carried out to a high level of detail, following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Liaise with site management teams to ensure all involved are aware of work processes.
  • Attend site visits to gain knowledge of works required and assist with quotations.
  • Attend weekly review meetings to ensure projects are on track and deadlines are being met.
  • Produce relevant RAMs and H&S documents, ensuring timely management of temporary and permanent staff.
  • Upload new clients, projects, drawings, and RAMs to the BORIS system prior to each project start date.
  • Contribute to overall business development, including introductions and client proposals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Contracts Manager role.
  • Extensive experience in passive fire protection and intumescent paint.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire stopping procedures and products.
  • In-date SMSTS and CSCS tickets.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident individual, capable of managing any situation on site.
  • Experience with using the BORIS system, both on site and in the office.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence with willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across the UK at short notice.
