Quality Engineer Opportunity

Location: Sunderland

Contract Type: Permanent

Purpose of the Quality Engineer

This role will involve supporting all New Model Quality Assurance activities across the site. You will be responsible for the development of parts & processes, creation of QA documentation and maintenance of associated QA systems to satisfy all ANPQP and NPL requirements.

This role will cover all aspects of assembly and interior trim. The person that is recruited for this role will make a significant contribution towards the improved performance of these products.

Main Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer

  • Manage QA responsibilities of New Model Launches.
  • Provide a key customer liaison to communicate part development countermeasures (PDR) in agreed timescales.
  • Support part development, through all aspects of the joint check process.
  • Represent the QA department within new model project teams, working closely with other functions, external toolmakers, Tier 2 suppliers and Customers.
  • Ensure ANPQP/IATF16949 documentation and standards are maintained throughout the new model process.
  • Co-ordinate metrology responsibilities for the entire site, to ensure all inspection standard and QVCC requirements are completed in line with ANPQP/EPMS expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and a proven track record of delivering quality results in a fast-paced environment.
