Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Horticultural Assistant to join our team at Blue Arrow Customer Success Hub. As an Assistant Gardener, you will be responsible for carrying out horticultural work to a high standard, including grass cutting, mechanical weed control, and basic maintenance of machinery.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine horticultural operations, such as grass cutting and mechanical weed control.
- Assist in more advanced horticultural operations, including pruning and planting bedding.
- Be aware of and adhere to all relevant risk assessments.
- Cleanse duties, including litter clearance and cleaning changing rooms.
- Erect sports equipment and assist with marking out sports pitches.
- Check allocated tools, equipment, and machinery before use to ensure they are in good and safe working order.
- Undertake basic maintenance on grass cutting machinery.
- Assist in site preparation and construction of soft and hard landscaping projects.
- Carry out playground inspections and complete reports to ensure that they are maintained in line with agreed standards.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic horticultural tasks, including mowing experience.
- Understanding of basic health and safety and manual handling.
- Full Driving Licence is essential.
- Ability to carry out basic tasks without supervision.
- Ability to deal with the public in a polite and constructive manner.
- Capability to work as part of a team.
