Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Burnham Beeches Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence, ensuring seamless kitchen operations.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve company standards and comply with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure high-quality food is served to guests, meeting company standards and food safety regulations.
  • Aid in the planning and implementation of new menus, ensuring they meet guest expectations and company standards.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet guest demand.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, adhering to company standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Strive to anticipate and meet guest needs, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Ensure kitchen staff are correctly dressed and maintain high personal hygiene standards.
Requirements
  • Confidence in all aspects of food safety and health and safety.
  • Excellent team player with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience working in a 2 rosette environment, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Previous Sous Chef experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Creativity and ability to bring new ideas to menus.
