Job Summary

The Custom Fabricator - Nights will work within a dynamic team of Fabricators and Mechanical Engineers to deliver quality projects to our clients. This role involves reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabricating, and assembling metal components or structures, as well as performing quality checks on finished products. The successful candidate will also be responsible for designing and setting up fabricating jigs and custom templates, interfacing with other departments to solve problems, and observing processes that support the wider business. Additionally, they will have an active role in site safety and ensure that we always strive to execute on manufacturing to the highest possible standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings to ensure implementation according to weld procedure specification (WPS)
  • Work within and according to health and safety guidelines to maintain personal and others safety
  • Competent in utilizing various hand and power tools
  • Competent in operating measuring tools such as tape measures, weld gauges, etc.
  • Work to process, incorporating SSOW's/Quality standards
  • Periodically check all equipment is maintained to high standards and report issues
  • Evaluate materials/parts, etc. before activities carried out and on completion of assemblies conform to quality checks. Report via NCR if any issues
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment
  • Comply with clock procedures to comply with company processes
  • Be flexible to perform duties throughout other departments
  • Engage in personal development programs/Training
  • Operate within individual and team environment maintaining work ethics individually and alongside other team members
  • Ownership/Identification of all fabrication (Marking/Labelling of assemblies manufactured)
  • Communication between line manager/colleagues

Required Technical Abilities
  • Aluminium TIG welding in accordance with ISO 10042 Quality level B
  • Carbon Steel MAG welding in accordance with ISO 5817 Quality Level B
