Key Responsibilities:
- Transport Operations: Monitor and manage the loading of trailers, ensuring that schedules are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Yard Management: Coordinate the movement of trailers and equipment, ensuring that the yard is organized and efficient.
- Reporting and Analysis: Compile and analyze data on transportation performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize efficiency.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of transportation staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Communication: Liaise with internal stakeholders, including dispatchers, drivers, and customers, to ensure that transportation needs are met and that any issues are resolved promptly.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a transportation or logistics role, with a proven track record of success in a supervisory or management position.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and laws, including hours of service, weight and size restrictions, and hazardous materials handling. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
