Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at Connect Plus Services, responsible for maintaining the M25 motorway network.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake activities as instructed to ensure the maintenance of the motorway network, including cyclical maintenance, carriageway repairs, and soft estate maintenance.
  • Implement Chapter 8 compliant Traffic Management in line with CPS policies, method statements, risk assessments, and industry standards.
  • Provide accurate and legible written and verbal communication in the form of reports and records.
  • Use mobile communication/data devices to accurately input data for record purposes.
  • Undertake routine vehicle checks and maintain accurate and up-to-date driving records.
  • Take due care of all company property, including vehicles, radios, and tablets.
  • Raise awareness of issues affecting the safe operation of the network and report observations.
  • Check and restock Traffic Management signs, equipment, and materials on vehicles, and record and report defects as necessary.
  • Participate in the Winter Service rota as required.
  • Attend training courses as required.

Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will work on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern basis, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Day shifts are 05:00 to 17:00, with 2 x 30-minute breaks, while night shifts are 17:00 to 05:00, also with 2 x 30-minute breaks.

There will be a reasonable level of travel around the M25 network and between depots, as well as travel to meetings, training, and works sites outside the normal operational area.

Requirements

  • UK Driving Licence, minimum category CE (LGV Class 2)
  • Driver Qualification Card
  • CSCS Operative Card
  • 12AB For Static Temporary Traffic Management on High-Speed Roads and All-Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network.
  • Traffic Management Foreman (TMF) qualification/Lead Traffic Management Operative (LTMO)
  • 12AB Impact Protection Vehicle Courses (IPV)
