About the role
We're seeking a highly skilled Digital Analytics Manager to lead our Product Analytics & Experimentation team at Tesco. As a key member of our Data & Analytics directorate, you'll be responsible for delivering insightful and actionable data through reporting, analysis, and experimentation. Your focus will be on establishing best-practice processes and enabling data-driven decision making across all supported product teams.

Key responsibilities
  1. Owning relationships with digital product teams, helping them define objectives and key results, analysing product releases, defining, and validating hypothesis, and making product recommendations.
  2. Supporting senior governance forums which monitor performance against objectives.
  3. Growing the analytics maturity of the team to deliver cutting-edge analytical capabilities.
  4. Coordinating the application of analysis, design, and modelling techniques to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components.
  5. Leading by example and demonstrating to others the importance of data security and data quality and the need to ensure these are factored into design from the outset.
  6. Providing advice and guidance to others, using the data structures and associated components, on how to define and build metrics and hierarchies to support decision-making.
  7. Advising on the appropriate use of data visualisation for different purposes and contexts to satisfy requirements.
  8. Providing expert advice and guidance to enable the organisation to get maximum value from its data assets.
  9. Tailoring and framing communications to meet the needs of the audience.
  10. Building and developing a team and organising them to deliver maximum value.
  11. Influencing the strategic vision set by senior management.
  12. Demonstrating great prioritisation skills and decision-making skills in allocating resources to business priorities.
  13. Nurturing talent, promoting a culture of learning and development, and enabling inspiring career progression plans.
  14. Being always inclusive, ensuring everyone feels welcome and can be themselves at work without fear of judgement.
  15. Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

Requirements
We're looking for a leader who is well organised, pragmatic, and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first. You'll need to have demonstrated experience of:
  1. University degree of 2:1 or higher in a quantitative discipline or relevant experience.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you must be able to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  3. Either managerial positions in analytics or significant coaching experience.
  4. Able to build solid working relationships with peers and senior leadership.
  5. Working effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and understanding how to contribute to all phases of the product development lifecycle.
  6. Commercial awareness.
  7. Managing change in a dynamic environment.
  8. Advanced digital analytics.
  9. Advanced SQL.
  10. Advanced data architecture.
  11. Advanced data visualisation.
  12. Use of Voice of Customer tools to analyse customer feedback.
  13. Strong collaboration with experimentation teams.
  14. Customer segmentation and statistical modelling techniques.
  15. Thinking at a conceptual level across several platforms and channels.
